We encourage all students to explore career options from the moment they enter high school. Developing educational and career plans can be an exciting process. When students have an idea of where they are headed, they can more meaningfully explore their choices via high school course selection, dual credit options at CNM/UNM, and possible job mentorship experiences.  

Below are some websites that are fun to use when exploring career choices. Some of the sites include personal interest inventories that can help identify careers that are a good fit. Once on the site begin with an interest inventory. To take the interest inventory, go to:

  2. Career solutions system
  3. Assessment
  4. Interest profiler

Look at your scores to determine which area you scored highest in (artistic, realistic, investigative, social, enterprising, or conventional), then research jobs in your chosen area.

Look up the specifics about any occupation you are interested in researching; go to

  1. Occupation Information
  2. Occupation Profile
  3. Type in a career you are interested in exploring or use the drop-down menu
  4. Select a state.
